Apartment Garden!

I love fresh ingredients! We usually go to the Farmer's Market, but this year I wanted to attempt to grow my own! I went to Home Depot and bought all of the things I needed to do so! Including items to build a shelving unit to hold them! I had no idea what I was doing, but when I got there the employees were so helpful! I told them the basic idea I had for the shelf and they helped me design it. We gathered all of the appropriate materials including wood, a drill, screws and planting items and headed home!

Vegetable & Steak Fajitas with "Killed" Jalapenos (Fail)

This recipe was found in the May 2011 Cooking Light Magazine on page 89. The recipe is fairly simple but I did not care for it all that much. I don't think it had enough flavor. There seemed to be something missing. Although I did not like the meal, I wanted to share the recipe. I think that everything I try (and document) should be shared regardless of if it was a success or not.

Bumper Sticker Magnets!

This isn't a food related post, but it does have to do with the kitchen! I feel like I never have enough magnets on the fridge in the kitchen. We had a few bumper stickers lying around the house that I had wanted to make into magnets. They could be used in the kitchen or put on the back of your car!

Nifty Jars!

I bought jars for $12 at a department store. They were plain and it had no indication on what was inside! I decided to buy sticky chalkboard material and make "signs" for the jars.

Carrot-Walnut Bars w/ Homemade Cream Cheese Frosting

This recipe comes from the Better Homes and Gardens Old Fashioned Baking Cookbook. It was published in 1995. Easy and delicious... the perfect recipe.

Habanero IPA Cheddar Soup

This recipe was posted on Reddit by BeerIsDelicious. I messaged him and asked if I could use the recipe on my blog. He said yes (obviously!) and so here it is! I dedicate this post to him. Thanks for the recipe. :)

Lamingtons

This recipe for Lamingtons, an Australian treat, comes from the book "A Baker's Odyssey" by Greg Patent published in 2007. This recipe was absolutely delicious and fairly easy to make! It became a tad messy, but it was so worth it! You do have to let it sit overnight, which is the only sad part about this delicious dessert.
